A good standard is one that is followed! We are going to have enough
problems enforcing this standard as it is, we don't need to tell people
that an established key combo like CTRL+A is not valid anymore. It will
make this standard NON-STANDARD.
It is pretty obvious that you are the only one bothered with this. I can
see your point and if we were devising a new standard for a new OS then
maybe CTRL+A is a bad idea. But it is too late!
Now this ^A business is creating a lot of traffic and will probably cause
some subscribers to leave the list. I think everyone knows that you don't
like CTRL+A by now! Remember that some people pay to get this text.
